My video communicates the sensation of positive and negative touch through visual color references. The breakdown: By interviewing numerous individuals about the emotions felt when one is touched vs. not touched, I have come up with a list of 19 "high-touch" emotions and 19 "low-touch" emotions that correlate with this sensation. Next, I assigned specific "colors" that best communicate the emotion perceived. For instance, warm is assigned a warm orange-brown to communicate the sense of warmth etc. To somehow connect the emotions via the limitations of a book, I've decided to blend the colors/emotions in 19 equal steps. Each color then becomes a combination of emotions, much like the combination of emotions an individual experiences when touched.
